Samsung Brings Back the Galaxy S25 FE in 2025

After skipping one generation of the Fan Edition, Samsung is reviving the lineup with the launch of the Galaxy S25 FE. This new model joins the Galaxy S25 family, arriving after the ultra–slim Galaxy S25 Edge earlier this year.

Design and Display

Samsung continues its 2025 design language, prioritizing slimmer and more refined builds across its flagship devices. The Galaxy S25 FE is now 7.4mm thick (down from 8mm on the S24 FE) and weighs 190 grams, making it noticeably sleeker.

While it doesn’t quite match the razor–thin Galaxy S25 Edge, the S25 FE still reflects Samsung’s vision for more compact flagships. It features a tougher Armor Aluminum frame, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protecting both the front and back. As expected, it maintains an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

On the front, the phone sports a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution. The flat panel supports an adaptive refresh rate of 60Hz–120Hz and includes Vision Booster for improved visibility in bright conditions.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 FE is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2400 (4nm) chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, giving users plenty of flexibility.

Battery capacity has been boosted to 4,900mAh, and charging is faster than before with 45W wired charging. According to Samsung, the device can reach 65% in just 30 minutes. As usual, the charger is sold separately.

Cameras

The Galaxy S25 FE features a triple rear camera setup consisting of:

  • 50MP wide camera
  • 8MP telephoto camera
  • 12MP ultrawide camera

The rear system supports 8K video recording at 30fps, while the front houses a 12MP selfie camera for photos and video calls.

Extra Features

Samsung equips the S25 FE with several premium features, including:

  • Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos
  • In-display optical fingerprint sensor
  • Wi-Fi 6E
  • Bluetooth 5.3

The device runs Android 16 with One UI 8.0 out of the box. Impressively, Samsung promises seven years of OS upgrades and security updates, meaning the phone could eventually reach Android 23 and One UI 15.

Colors and Dimensions

The Galaxy S25 FE will be available in Icy Blue, Jet Black, Navy, and White. It measures 161.3 x 76.6 x 7.4mm and weighs 190 grams.

Price and Availability

The Galaxy S25 FE officially went on sale worldwide on September 4, 2025. Pricing starts at $649 in the U.S. for the 128GB model, identical to the S24 FE’s launch price.

  • Decent storage options – Available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB variants, all paired with 8GB RAM.
  • Improved battery – 4,900mAh capacity with 45W fast charging (65% in 30 minutes), plus 15W wireless and reverse wireless charging.

  • Flagship extras – Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, IP68 water/dust resistance, Samsung DeX, and Circle to Search integration.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE of Disadvantages

  • Charger not included – You’ll need to buy the 45W fast charger separately.
  • Exynos only – No Snapdragon option, which might be a letdown for users in regions where Snapdragon chips are usually favored.
  • No microSD slot – Storage is fixed, so heavy users might need to choose the 512GB version.
  • No headphone jack – Like most modern flagships, wired audio fans are left out.
  • Not the slimmest S25 – While thinner than the previous FE, it’s still bulkier compared to the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge.
  • Wireless charging speed – 15W wireless is decent but slower than some competitors.
  • Price creeping higher – Starting at $649, it’s not exactly “budget-friendly” for a Fan Edition model.
