vivo Y39 5G Officially Launched: Rugged Design, Massive Battery, and Reliable Performance

Entering the first quarter of 2025, vivo continues to expand its Y-series lineup. Following several new releases earlier this year, the company has now introduced the vivo Y39 5G at the end of March 2025. Positioned as the successor to the vivo Y38 5G, which debuted in May 2024, this model brings notable upgrades in durability and overall performance.

Display and Design

On the front, the vivo Y39 5G features a modern punch-hole design housing an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. The 6.68-inch IPS LCD panel offers HD+ resolution (720 x 1608 pixels), a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1000 nits—ensuring sharp and fluid visuals. Protected by Schott Glass, the display is also enhanced with a special technology that maintains responsiveness even when operated with wet hands.

At the back, the device stands out with its circular camera module surrounded by a glossy ceramic-like frame. Inside the module, three elements are arranged in a triangular pattern: a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with a Sony sensor, a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor, and a ring-shaped LED flash. The main camera also supports Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), delivering steadier video recordings.

Performance and Storage

Under the hood, the vivo Y39 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a 4nm processor built with two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.95GHz. The device comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which can be virtually expanded up to 16GB for improved multitasking. Storage options include 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1, though the phone does not support microSD card expansion.

Battery Life

One of the biggest highlights of the Y39 5G is its battery. Equipped with a massive 6500mAh Blue Volt battery, it supports 44W fast charging via USB Type-C for faster and more efficient power top-ups. vivo claims the battery will maintain at least 80% health even after five years of use, providing long-term reliability. The same capacity has been seen in other vivo Y-series devices, such as the Y29 4G released earlier in 2025.

Durability

Beyond performance, the Y39 5G is also designed to withstand challenging conditions. With IP64 certification, it is resistant to dust and water splashes. Additionally, its frame has passed SGS Five-Star certification and military-grade MIL-STD 810H durability tests, ensuring solid protection against accidental drops and bumps.

Pricing and Availability

Globally, vivo positions the Y39 5G as a mid-range device with competitive pricing. In India, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is available at approximately ₹16,999. Meanwhile, in Singapore, the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced around USD 369. International sellers also offer factory-unlocked versions through major e-commerce platforms. With its balance of 5G connectivity, powerful battery, and enhanced durability, the vivo Y39 5G stands out as a strong value-for-money option in the mid-range smartphone segment.
