iPhone 17 Pro Review: Specs, Pros, Cons, and Price

Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 17 series at their “Awe-Dropping Event” on September 9, 2025. The lineup includes four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the all-new iPhone 17 Air, which replaces the Plus series and is now the thinnest iPhone ever.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature a solid aluminum unibody, replacing titanium. Apple’s precision heating and forging process not only makes the body sleek but also improves heat dissipation, while Ceramic Shield on the front and back provides extra protection against scratches and drops.

On the camera side, the Pro models come with three 48MP lenses—main, ultrawide, and telephoto—using Fusion technology. The telephoto lens supports up to 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom, perfect for capturing detailed shots or distant subjects.

Performance is powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chipset (3nm), delivering efficient multitasking and smooth performance for demanding apps. The iPhone 17 Pro Max offers up to 2TB of storage, while battery life can last up to 39 hours of video playback.

The main difference between the Pro and Pro Max is the screen size: 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. Overall, the iPhone 17 series combines sleek design, upgraded cameras, and top-notch performance for an enhanced user experience.

As expected, the iPhone 17 Pro is clearly aimed at users who want top-of-the-line performance, cutting-edge cameras, and maximum storage, though the price may feel steep for some.

  • Powerful Performance with A19 Pro : Powered by the A19 Pro chip (3nm), it delivers super-fast performance and efficiency, perfect for multitasking, heavy apps, and gaming.
  • Advanced 48MP Camera System : The triple 48MP rear cameras plus LiDAR sensor allow for high-quality photos and videos, including support for ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2, making it great for content creators.
  • Super Retina XDR Display with ProMotion : The 6.3-inch display with 120Hz ProMotion and peak brightness up to 3000 nits ensures smooth visuals and sharp colors, even under bright sunlight.
  • Impressive Battery Life : With optimized power efficiency, the iPhone 17 Pro can last up to 33 hours of video playback, making it ideal for all-day use.

iPhone 17 Pro Disadvantages

  • Controversial Design : Some users feel the rear design, with the large camera bump and aluminum/glass combo, looks a bit too similar to some Android phones, which may reduce the iconic iPhone feel.
  • High Price Tag : Starting around $1,099 for the 256GB model, the iPhone 17 Pro is clearly a premium device, which might be a dealbreaker for some buyers.
  • Limited Color Options:Currently available in Silver, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Orange, it lacks the classic black option that many iPhone fans love.
  • No 3.5mm Headphone Jack : Like previous iPhones, you’ll need wireless earbuds or an adapter for wired headphones.
